Masaccio arrive \u00e0 Florence en 1417 et entre tr\u00e8s t\u00f4t en apprentissage dans l\u2019atelier d\u2019un peintre, o\u00f9 il d\u00e9couvre les \u0153uvres de Brunelleschi et de Donatello. Rep\u00e9r\u00e9 pour son talent, il s\u2019associe avec Masolino, de 20 ans son a\u00een\u00e9, pour r\u00e9aliser les fresques de la chapelle Brancacci., L\u2019audace picturale de Masaccio s\u2019impose rapidement\u00a0: il use d\u2019une perspective<\/u><\/em><\/strong> r\u00e9volutionnaire<\/em><\/strong><\/u>, introduit une g\u00e9om\u00e9trie spatiale fond\u00e9e sur le jeu des lignes<\/u><\/em><\/strong>. L\u2019influence du gothique international est encore sensible, mais un nouveau champ de vision artistique est en train de s\u2019ouvrir\u2026<\/p>

Masaccio conf\u00e8re \u00e0 ses personnages une expressivit\u00e9 unique<\/u><\/em><\/strong> au travers des gestes et des rictus tortur\u00e9s. Une th\u00e9\u00e2tralit\u00e9 d\u00e9j\u00e0 presque baroque\u2026<\/p>

L\u2019innovation de Masaccio se retrouvent dans ses th\u00e9matiques : l\u2019id\u00e9al urbain, le go\u00fbt du paysage, l\u2019humanit\u00e9 des personnages, et bien s\u00fbr l\u2019autoportrait.<\/p>

L\u2019\u0153uvre la plus aboutie de Masaccio demeure sans doute la fresque de la Sainte Trinit\u00e9, commenc\u00e9e vers 1425. Une d\u00e9monstration magistrale de perspective<\/u><\/em><\/strong>, \u00e9minemment murale, sous forme de trompe-l\u2019\u0153il<\/u><\/em><\/strong> monumental.<\/p>

Fauch\u00e9 en pleine gloire, Masaccio dispara\u00eet myst\u00e9rieusement \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e2ge de 27 ans. Il est alors peut-\u00eatre victime de la peste qui ravage alors l\u2019Italie.<\/p>

Son g\u00e9nie artistique est pourtant reconnu d\u00e8s son \u00e9poque.
