Sa racine pivotante \u00e0\u00a0<b>enracinement profond<\/b>\u00a0la rend tr\u00e8s int\u00e9ressante comme engrais vert. Se contente de\u00a0<b>terres maigres<\/b>, r\u00e9siste aux fortes chaleurs et au froid. Sem\u00e9e en\u00a0<b>sol argileux<\/b>, le lin am\u00e9liore beaucoup la structure superficielle du sol gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa racine pivotante. R\u00e9siste tr\u00e8s bien au\u00a0<b>froid<\/b>\u00a0et \u00e0 la\u00a0<b>s\u00e9cheresse<\/b>\u00a0mais demande un\u00a0<b>sol neutre \u00e0 calcaire<\/b>. Peut rester en place plusieurs ann\u00e9es\u00a0: elle est d\u2019ailleurs particuli\u00e8rement int\u00e9ressante pour am\u00e9liorer le sol pendant 2 \u00e0 3 ans avant la plantation d\u2019arbres
